I'll overwhelm 'credible boxer' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be shown live on Netflix.
Briton Anthony Joshua stated he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" the American as the pair confronted each other to promote the upcoming bout.
Ex twice world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a mammoth disparity - at Miami venue on 19 December.
Fighter's Mentality
"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I'm here to prove I'm superior," Joshua, 35, declared.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's the boxer's mindset.
"I will seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."
Civil Interaction
Despite such comments, a relaxed Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - were respectful and remained civil with each other.
Jake Paul rather criticized ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and declined a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.
"[Paul] outshines Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.
"I give him credit for that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Joshua chose not to talk badly about his opponent's fighting skills.
"Jake is a serious fighter," he remarked.
Jake Paul's Background
Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed MMA fighters or faded names since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's largest commercial attractions, frequently receiving massive earnings.
Forecast and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is allegedly being planned for two years from now.
"It will be myself against Tyson Fury in the coming year," Paul said.
Size Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the usual stare-down, with their size difference evident, it drove home just how surprising this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
