Norris Tops Oscar Piastri in Sao Paulo Practice Session
The British driver has outperformed his teammate at each of the past five grands prix.
Lando Norris narrowly beat team-mate and title rival the Australian for the top spot in the final moments of practice at the Brazilian Grand Prix.
Norris, who seized the championship lead from his teammate by one point after winning in Mexico City recently, topped the Melbourne-born driver by a tiny margin of 0.023secs.
Earlier in the session, Piastri had been the quickest of the McLaren pair throughout the hour before sprint qualifying scheduled for the evening session.
Max Verstappen, the sole remaining contender in realistic title contention, sitting 36 points Norris, was classified in 17th place as his Red Bull team followed a alternative strategy.
Verstappen's team-mate the Japanese driver was the only driver to crash, though minor, when he lost control at the fourth corner soon after starting.
Tsunoda slid over the track edges before sliding over the escape zone, and was lucky to avoid just a minor contact of the wall.

Hamilton ended the session in P19, one place behind team-mate the Monegasque driver.
Norris and Piastri were far ahead of the remaining drivers, with Nico Hulkenberg's car in third, 0.619secs off the Australian's time.
Aston Martin's the Spanish driver was in fourth, with Sauber's Gabriel Bortoleto ahead of the Mercedes of Russell and the Alpine of Gasly and the Williams of Sainz.
